I'm learning a lesson, taking the time to write about the amazing things I see through the lens is not necessarily my strength. But last weekend we had an experience that I needed a moment to reflect on. The Eagles Wing Ranch outside of Steamboat Springs is one of the most amazing places I have seen. There are over 200 beautiful buffalo on this ranch who roam the meadows and live on a healthy diet of the grass that grows in the summer and hay bailed off the land through the winter. This year there were 80 calves born to join this herd. Being feet away from animals that majestic does not even begin to describe brightened my view on the love and work a rancher puts into his animals that I had never thought of. Jim talked to us about every buffalo as they crossed our path and gave us a little of their life story. It is those moments looking through the lens that remind me why I love the camera. Editing each picture I am taken back to the moment I capture the shot and get to relive those moments over and over. The camera allows me to let each second live on forever in a way that I just can't capture with words.
Puppy Throwback
I was looking through some fun shoots from this winter and came across this collection of Olde English Bulldogge puppies. My friend in Aspen bred this litter this winter. These little models took no direction and were more interested in playing and kisses than pictures. But so much fun! Click on the picture to cycle through some of the other great shots. All shots available for print!
